🚨 Fake Bank Phone Calls
Date reported: August 2025
How it works: Fraudsters call pretending to be your bank. They claim there’s suspicious activity and tell you to transfer money to a “safe account.” Some spoof real bank numbers.
What to do:
Hang up immediately.
Call your bank using the number on your bank card.
Never transfer money based on a phone call.
📩 HMRC Tax Refund Email Scam
Date reported: July 2025
How it works: Emails pretend to be from HMRC, claiming you’re due a refund. The links lead to fake sites stealing your bank details.
What to do:
Never click the links.
Forward to phishing@hmrc.gov.uk.
Remember: HMRC won’t email or text about refunds.

📦 Royal Mail Delivery Fee Text
Date reported: June 2025
How it works: Texts claim you need to pay a small fee to release a parcel. The link goes to a fake site designed to steal card details.
What to do:
Delete the message.
Don’t click links.
Check deliveries directly via the Royal Mail website.
